The Bangladesh Youth Climate Parliament has established an Election Commission to address climate change issues across all climate-vulnerable areas and 300 parliamentary constituencies through youth MPs, bridging grassroots demands with national-level action. The Commission will oversee the entire electoral process, including creating and enforcing a code of conduct, managing nominations, verifying candidates, collecting votes, and announcing results. Sharafat Karim has been elected as Chief Election Commissioner, with Jawata Afnan and Tanzina Hossain serving as Election Commissioners. This initiative aims to ensure sustainable climate solutions by empowering youth voices and facilitating their representation in environmental governance, marking a significant step towards inclusive and effective climate action in Bangladesh.
